Date Table

Hello, I am just curious if this can be done. I have this test form that I am setting up which will be inserted into the final page once I get all the forms built and working. I am currently working on this form.

What I would like to know is if I can place all the info from that form into a single feild on a table. Or would I need to create a seperate feild for the day, month, year, which is the way I currently have it now. I would like to have all of it to be enter into one field if possible. There are four datatypes that might interest you. DATE (YYYY-MM-DD), TIME(HH:MM:SS), DATETIME (YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS), and TIMESTAMP (DATETIME automatically set to the current time)

Thank you for your reply, I have seen those dataypes before. I am just not sure how to set that up with my form, or can that type be used with the form I an using? I need to keep that date form I am using since the date place could differ from the actually date of entry. So it needs to be where the user can enter any date they like. So could anyone explain further how I would go about setting this up with the form I am using.

Just concatenate them together:

//scrub the form data here...
$datestring = $year."-".$month."-".$day;

and insert that into a date field.

Thanks for the reply. The forms I have on the page call a php page that inserts the data into the MySQL. Since I am new that is just how I have learn it so far. I haven't got into mixxing html with php yet except to insert echos into tables. So would I insert

$datestring = $year."-".$month."-".$day;

Into the query that is placed on the php page? Also how would the DB feild be setup? Thanks in advance.
