Email query

I was just curious how easy or diffculty this would be to do. What I would like to do is build a page that users can select certain options and then depending on the options choosen it would email them the results stored in my DB. Is this possible, and if so what are some ways I could go about it. Thanks in advance.

Do you want the contents mailed right then? Or is it like for a newsletter and get mailed once a week (or month)? Can you supply just a little more info? But basically, I would think that if you can send an email and query a database and show results on your pages, then you could just as easily query the db and use the results as the message of your outgoing email... fairly easily...

Yea what I want to do is setup a page that would give a user several options to choose from in the search critria. Then give them the option of what days they would like to receive them and if they would like them to be recurrent. It would be similar to geocaching.com PQ's if you are familiar with that. Then have the results of their query emailed to them on the days they selected to receive them. I am just learning all this but seem to be catching on fairly quickly and would like to build something like that in the near future once I get some of the other stuff built and out of the way. Would this be something that is farily easy to do, or would it be a complex procedure? Thanks for the replys.

I belive that it is not going to be too hard. Hardest part will be getting the script to run automatically every day they chose to be emailed. There will be ways around this if perhaps you want to sign on and maybe do a db search for everyone that wants an email sent that day. Or you can set up a cron job for it...

cron job, uh. Yea I didn't even think of that. That would pretty much excute the daily emails they need to be sent out wouldn't it? The only other issue I have with it is sending the info as a GPX file.
