mail function problem

I'm using php with mysql. I have a website where members can request a new password to be sent to them if they should forget their password. Problem is that the members of my site with email addresses from AOL are not getting their mail. For some reason the mailing system I am using gets stopped by AOL and my members are not getting their messages. Is there anything I can do about this? This is what I am using---

mail($email, $subject, $message, "From: mysite.com Webmaster<[e-mail]>\nX-Mailer: PHP/" . phpversion());

Check your DNS setup. Most likely your DNS is bad, or sendmail isn't setup correctly.

The problem happens during reverse DNS usually.

Check your DNS for errors at:
http://www.dnsreport.com/

it has nothing to do with your code and everything to do with how your sending email. You should use a SMTP class that lets you AUTH an account rather than using mail() anyways.

I am unfamiliar with SMTP what is that or how would I go about using it? Thanks in advance!
