as per the suggestion of PHPBuilder user, bastien, i am using a Mambo CMS on a website i've created recently. It was a bit tricky to get the hang of it, but i think i've pretty much caught on to everything-- but now, i think i'm starting to recognize some limitations-- either that, or i need to find some plugins, or to figure out how to tweak it to do what i want.
here's that i want. Mambo users, you should understand the Lingo here-- I'm using the JavaBean theme which is one of three which came standard w/ the software):
I need to link (preferably) from a Menu component (Main Menu, or Other Menu) to some (static) content. The available option that Mambo provides is to either open that link in the parent or in a new browser window, either w/ or w/out the toolbar extras. the new window would be nice, but what i'm getting (not what i want) is essentially the entire website opening again in that new window (instead of the single html document)-- this doesn't make for an aesthetically pleasing effect because then i essentially have the website open in two separate windows-- one of which has no toolbars. also, my content is in an HTML table, and due to the width of that content, it's spreading out too wide, causing the Mambo nav menu (i'm using Java Bean theme) to become diminished, and also the components to the right are diminished, trying to fit around this wide grid.
i Want to be able to open this static content in my own java-pop-up window, if possible-- so i can set the width and height, and use only that html document as the content for that new window.
if my post is unclear, then please ask me to clarify as this is a very important issue for me right now-- and i've been posting in the Mambo Forum for nearly 3 weeks! without a single reply yet. ugh! it's so frustrating! if no one here is able to lend a hand, then perhaps someone has a suggested Mambo community (other than the one at the Mamboserver site)?
thanks so much for your help!!
