Php Include

Im not very good with PHP so take it easy on me...

what im trying to do is instead of using an IFRAME to show my content im using Php Include, however what im trying to figure out is if its possible that when a link is clicked the PHP INCLUDE content changes like an iframe but not load up a new page.... A programmer told me to use AJAX but ive never heard of it so could someone help me out possibly?, thankyou

So are you using php include to get content from other websites? or your own?

im using php include to get content from my own website... on my index page its got a php include to a page called indexpg.php so this loads up when you go to the site....

what i would like is when someone clicks for example the about page the php include changes from indexpg.php to about.php and shows up.... instead of me creating a full new page just for the about page.... i want just the content of the about page to show up

theres a nice simple ajax tutorial here, written by the guy who wrote php itself.
