Files in MySQL or in folder?

Im trying to create a upload system for my site. users should be able to upload files to a private account. I know saving the files in a mysql table would put alot of stress on the mysql server, but I dont think my site will have the number of users to make that a problem. Is there still advatages in saving them in directly in the filesystem? Do anyone have a good tutorial on how this is best done?

There are still advantages to saving them in the file system: generally speaking it's faster, simpler, and files are more accessible to filesystem functions than BLOBs are (though if you faff about with PHP5's streams you could get around this). On the other hand, you do have an issue with privacy; you'll need to be able to keep the files of one user separate from those of another.
