Finding Lowest Numeric Value in DB ?

I would so much appreciate it if someone could point me in a direction here. This is probably simple, yet still if you have not done it before and all googling reveals nothing. Who do you turn to ? PHPBUILDER 🙂

Ok here is my table for example...

| amount      | bond_cost  | 
+--------------+---------------+
| 150000      | 101             |
| 200000      | 123             |
| 300000      | 164             |
| 400000      | 177             |
+--------------+---------------+

I would like to select the lowest from this table, say I have a value of 190000 then I would like to query the row 150000 to get the bond_cost value which is 101...

Please help me, and thank you in advanced...
