Multiple execution times from same page

I've got a page that has fairly varied execution times ranging from .2s to over 1s and was just wondering if anyone had any ideas why this could be other than server load and if anyone had any ideas on how to keep the page running at the faster speeds (other than running it during NZ peak times 😃)

Some sample exec times...

Exec (Secs): 0.207723 SQL: 0.047041
Exec (Secs): 0.415379 SQL: 0.23738
Exec (Secs): 0.498558 SQL: 0.152426
Exec (Secs): 0.335873 SQL: 0.161852
Exec (Secs): 0.228062 SQL: 0.069454
Exec (Secs): 1.550324 SQL: 1.150036

Exec (Secs) being the general page exec time and SQL being the += time of the sql queries that exec.

Its probably just communication between the script and your database, and that is to be expected. 1 or 2 seconds isn't too much time anyways.

Thats on a page that re-creates cache in a loop that runs 30 times.
It could be needed to run thousands of times.

I get anything from 3 to 12 seconds for 400 runs so you can see where the problem starts to lie! (lye?)

query cache is your first, best chance to speed up execution, if it applies. Optimising your queries should always be done as well. Don't know your db structure or how much data is in it so I can't judge the execution times you posted.

Overall page processing does seem rather long to me though. My answer would be to change host.
