Not sure if this is the best place to ask this question, but here it goes.
First, an introduction into my skills. My HTML is fairly good - I have had a fair amount of experience with HTML. I have just begun to delve into the depths of PHP. I would probably catch on to it very quickly once I actually start uing it. I know and have used a little bit of javascript. However, I am very good with Java and C++ - although doubt those will come into play much here.
I have never actually completed a full website, mostly because I just haven't had the time and haven't before approached anyone nor has anyone approached me before to develop a website.
My uncle is an architect and has his own company and he has asked me to design a website for him. He asked me last year and I put something together for him, but it never really got to any sort of point of completion. This was mainly due the fact that at the time he wasn't certain that he wanted a website. But now he seems determined to get something up and running online. I would like to start from scratch this time, abandoning what I did for him last year as I would like to make use of PHP.
The idea of the site is to have a home page (of course) with links to, amoungst a few other things, pages for each of the houses he has designed. Now, since he designs websites continuously, new pages will be added continuously too. So I would like to make it easy to add a new house and edit the contents of the existing houses' pages. It would be nice if this editing could be done online.
I have seen many and even played around with a few PHP/mySQL systems already made and then used by many other sites, such as phpBB. Most of them though are forum systems.
Now, my quetsion to you guys is as follows: Do you know of any existing systems that will suit my requirements mentioned above? Or would it be better for me to just write it all from scratch?
