PHP xml validator?

i'm creating a google sitemap for my site:

http://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/docs/en/protocol.html#sitemapValidation

The sitemaps are in XML format and I think i have created them successfully, but i have been unable to find an XML validator that i can get running ot check my XML against their schema.

I know W3C.org has pages to validate HTML...is there anything like that on the web? Or perhaps an XML validator app that runs on windows or a PHP xml validator?

any help would be much appreciated.

PHP5's DOM extension can validate XML.

the servers to which i have access are all 4.x. I'm also confused by the text encoding thing. My XML file says UTF-8 but this validator complains:

Occured an error:
Couldn't find the charset automatically. Using the default.

Encoding in use: ISO-8859-1
