Question of easier way (loop?) to check radio boxes

Hi all,

I am looking for a more efficient way of checking my form results (from radio boxes).

I have a form with 30 questions (some are true or false, some are multiple choice) and I currently did it like this

1) Do you like whatever?

0 Yes
0 No

2) What is your favorite programming language?

0 PHP
0 JSP
0 ASP
0 Anything not written by Microsoft!
0 Both PHP and .. not Microsoft

When I check to make sure they checked at least one radio box per question and get the value (true and false are set to 1 and 0 respectively, the multiple choices are 1 for the correct answer and 0 to the incorrect one) I use this:

if(!isset($_POST['q1'])) {
	echo "You did not answer Question #1";
	} else {
	echo "Good answer!";
	}

end;

Now all 30 questions are called q1, q2, to q30.

Is there a more efficient way to loop thru to:

A) ensure they answered all 30 questions.
😎 get the values (again its a 0 or 1 for each)

Then I can get a total and divide that by 30 to get the percent they got right?

Is that clear enough?

I did what you suggested and I am close, I changed some of your code.

    $num = 45; // The number of iterations of q   

$no = 0;  

$yes = 0;

I checked the form, and the multiple questions made the total # of questions 45, so I changed $num=30 to 45.

But what I don't understand, is how to check the answers against what is correct and get a total ( based on 1 for correct and 0 for incorrect.
For example, question #1 the correct answer is true (1), but question #2 the correct answer is false (0).

Should I make the correct answers all 1 not true=1 and false=o (since the value (1) could be either true of false?

I think that's what you would have to do if you want to use a loop otherwise you'll need to check the question against the known answer.

I came up with a way to get the total questions answered and the % correct, but is there a loop solution that would be more efficient?
