Images not displaying in email - Apache server

Hey all,

I just finished building a mailing list app for a client. The apps sends out html emails along with a plain text version that has stripped out html text.

All works fine on PC (Thunderbird and Outlook) but all mac clients were unable to see the images in the mail. All paths were fine etc.

After 30mins of finding no way around it I tried hosting the images on a IIS server (Code and templates remained on the Apache site)

Anyway, this rectified the problem but left me completely boggled as to why the macs could not see the imagery on the apache host.

This is request for a possible answer as I am curious to see what could be the cause!

Server is shared Apache with standard /public_html/ structure.

That the path to the images was correct.

Initially I had the images in the css but after that failed on mac I simply added the images into the html pages with an absoloute ref I.E. http://mysite/img/header.gif

To reiterate, the PC viewed the apache paths fine but the mac simply wouldnt show the love.... 😐

Also if I viewed source in Mac client and clicked on the href of the imagery it all worked.... strange.
