IE trying to save the php page when posting from another page

Hi, I'm pretty new to PHP, and have only recently continued learning. After installing Apache, and the newest PHP, I find that when i open a php page explorer reads it but if i press a submit button that posts to another page or performs any pho script internet explorer immediately says the file type was unrecognised e.g. stage_2.php was unrecognised would you like to save?

I'm unsure why this is happening, perhaps my php.ini file isnt set correctly?

i think this might be due to apache handlers not being set? or u did not install php correctly?

I'm really unsure, I have enabled mysql within the php.ini
but i have changed nothing within the httpd.conf file within the apache folder.

Any suggestions would be great, thansk :queasy:

You might need to add the apache handler. Open your httpd.conf file and search for this:
AddType application/x-httpd-php php php3
If you don't find it, add it where the other "AddType" declarations are.

Then, at the bottom of your httpd.conf file, add a line that says:

PHPIniDir = "C:\php"

Then restart your apache server.

NOTE: This is for Apache 2 and PHP 5. If you're running Apache 1 and PHP 4, there are different instructions

Hey, thanks for ur reply, but when i make those changes, I get an error upon restarting the apache server saying:

"The requested operation failed!"

Within my php folder in c:, I found two files that may be of use
php5apache.dll
php5apache2.dll

Should these be in my c:/windows folder? or perhaps Apache group/Apache2/bin

yeah... you need to add the module:

LoadModule php5_module C:/php/php5apache2.dll

That should work!!
