$_POST['place'.$i] << is this possible

	for (  $i = 1; $i < 9; $i++ ) 
	{ 	

	            $place[$i] = $_POST['place'.$i]; 

} 

I send a load of fields from a form with the name "place" and a number on the end. eg:

place1
place2
place3
...

I thought i could use a for loop to go through each and extract the values:

for ( $i = 1; $i < 9; $i++ )
{

$place1 = $_POST['place'.$i];
}

Of course, i would also need to change $place1 to encorporate the $i variable....

$place$i

    $$name = $_POST[$name];
} 

Use two $$ to create a variable with a given name. By the way, are you aware that if you name your html form variables place[] then you get back an array?
