Hello

Ive got a very simple page called register.php and it does is take in users details, upon completion the info entered on the page is validated and an interaction with a database occurs.

Just wondered is it best if the validation and database operations take place within the very same register.php or is it better to pass the data to a different page.

passing data opens yourself up for security vulnerabilities. It's okay to handle it all within the same script. If you don't want to, you can use JavaScript to validate the form inputs, and then just use your PHP script to input. Best to stay with one page though....
