Cannot connec to mssql after recently moved my webserver

I have recently moved my webserver from an xp machine for development onto a windows 2000 machine. I am using PHP 4.3.1 and apache 2.0.55.

Before moving the web apps...they could run okay...when i setup the webserver and php configs...i copied the php.ini and httpd.conf from the xp machine to the new machine. If i view phpinfo it says mssql is supported but when i view a webpage...i get the cannot connect to 'SQLSERVER' (my dbase server name)

Does anybody know of a reason why this would be???

I have checked the server event viewer and there are no errors regarding that and web server logs just repeat the erros on my webpages .... cannot connect to SQLSERVER etc

Loads of possible causes for this, more info would be helpfull.

The first thing you need to look at is the W2K filesystem security. Remember that to NTFS your web apps are anonymous users and do not inherit any filesystem privileges, these need to be granted explicitly. Generally one should grant EVERYONE access to the folders where the db files are stored. I know this is the case with IIS, so I expect it also applies to Apache.
