[RESOLVED] can't get this join to work

select g.gameid, h.teamname home,
       h.email    hemail,
       v.teamname visitor,
       v.email    vemail
from games g,
      join teams v on v.id = g.visitorid
      join teams h on h.id = g.homeid      

 where (g.gamenum = 221)

I need the teamname and email fields from the teams table for the two teams
listed in a game in fields homeid and visitorid. dame.gameid is not really needed.

What database system are you using and what error are you getting? If you're using MySQL then try the following.

SELECT g.gameid, 
            h.teamname as home, h.email as hemail,
            v.teamname as visitor, v.email as vemail
FROM games as g
JOIN teams as v ON ( v.id=g.visitorid)
JOIN teams as h ON (h.id=g.homeid)
WHERE g.gamenum=221;
