[RESOLVED] extract text

I've looked through the forum etc - looking at tutorials now...

What I'm trying to do is extract 'some text' from between the underline tags in the following:

"yadda some text blah"

I know it's a regular expression of some description but I can't figure it out!

Try this:

$input = "yadda <u>some text</u> blah";
list($tmp_1, $tmp_2) = explode('<u>', $input);
list($output) = explode('</u>', $tmp_2);
echo $output;

Now I wish I'd asked the question properly...!

What I want to do is pull a page from a website which has 10 underlined items (10 latest posts from a perl forum).
I want to extract the first 5 items and display them on another page.

So what I'll be working with is:

"yadda header one blah yadda second bit blah yadda third title blah...etc"
