I realize that this is a PHP board, but I thought someone here might be able to help me with a phpmyAdmin issue (I think?). Its been driving me crazy! When I import the following text file into an SQL database, the TeamName (column 3) keeps gettting truncated. Here is a snippet of the text file.
1,30287.00,"ArtfulDodgers","LAD","NL","Ebbets Field 1932-37","Doug Baumstein","RF1",3499.00,"E",95.00,67.00,0.00,48.00,33.00,39.00,16.00,14.00,4.00,1.00,0.00,0.00
2,30288.00,"Better RED ThanDEAD !","CIN","NL","Crosley Field 1938-41","Michael Chagdes","RF1",3499.00,"E",76.00,86.00,19.00,35.00,46.00,16.00,24.00,4.00,9.00,
0.00,0.00,0.00
3,30285.00,"Coogan's HollowGiants","SFG","NL","Polo Grounds 1947-54","Patrick Noto","RF1",3499.00,"E",85.00,77.00,10.00,44.00,37.00,19.00,19.00,8.00,8.00,0.00,0.00,0.00
38,45533.00,"Las VegasBraves","ATL","NL","Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium 1994-96","Brian Deeley","RF4",4857.00,"E",74.00,88.00,16.00,38.00,43.00,21.00,28.00,8.00,5.00,0.00,0.00,0.00
This is imported with typical , and " options.
What results in the database for TeamName is "Artful","Better RED Than","Coogan's Hollow","Las Vegas" for team names. Sometimes it truncates after the first space, sometimes the 2nd or 3rd. Sometimes it leaves off one word, sometimes three words (not shown here). I can see no discernable pattern to it. The Column in the table I am importing to is VARCHAR with size of 40, plenty of space. I have had no problems with any other columns, including the ballpark field which can have many spaces.
The only thing I have to go on is that it is the first text field in each row. Any ideas as to my problem? Is it possibly a phpmyadmin setting? Thanks for any help.
