iam a newbie to php and from time to time i get stuck and cry out for help.
My problem today is:

$row=1;
echo"<a href=\"".$_SERVER['PHP_SELF']."?del=".$row."\">delete</a><br>";

echo $del;
?>
#################################
I want a variable to be assigned to ($del) when the link is clicked but is not working.Can sombody please tell me what i am doing wrong???

this is simple you need to 'get' your $del using $_GET['del'] like this..

$row=1;
echo"<a href=\"".$_SERVER['PHP_SELF']."?del=".$row."\">delete</a><br>";

echo $_GET['del'];
