Help with PHPBb

Well I am running Apache 1.3.31, and PHP 4.3.9 and I am getting "Call to undefined function preg_match()" when I try try to install phpBB.....I am not sure what I am doing but I am trying to follow the install instructions that are available thru here.....

I have the last stable release of mysql 4 installed and it is running....so any help here would be greatly apprecaited thanks

Looks like somebody in another forum had the same problem as you. Here is what he got for an answer

Install php4/5-pcre

myserver#portinstall php4-pcre
or
myserver#portinstall php5-pcre

(or without portupgrade:
myserver# cd /usr/ports/devel/php4-pcre
myserver# make install clean )
