vCard d/l in user CP options? New?

I don't remember a "vCard download" option in the User Control Panel before (as in 'prior to the upgrade') .... it's a new feature then?

If so, a word of warning: the default is to allow downloading of a board-generated vCard ... apparently even if your profile is set to "not allow members to email you" ....

I may be tilting at windmills here, but at first glance this appears to be the truth. Anyone got a better point of view than I do?

You actually have to unselect the checkbox that asks about the vCard download. Other than that, I don't have a better point of view.

Are you sure, Brett? It's not the sort of thing I would have done as a matter of course. Also, has it always been there ...?

No, it hasn't always been there. Although I'm seeing them pop up more and more. I think it's a v4 (or 3, whatever version this is) addition. phpBB has it now as well (I'm pretty sure). Don't know why, but I'd rather have the default be off!!

That was my sentiment, exactly. So, the default is to "allow users to download a vCard that includes your email address" ??

I suppose it's not like giving out my Swiss Bank Account numbers (😃 ), but it is something I would have liked to have been notified about.....
