authentication failure for localhost

Hi. I have been doing some PHP MySQL before. My localhost ipconfig is http://192.108.1.3. but when I enter this I am asked for a user name and password. I have been using http://localhost to get round this problem.

I used an admin name with no password to log on to my xp sp2 OS.
& the only names I ever used with PHP Mysql was root and no password.
I changed my login name and assigned a password but this didn't help.
Any ideas or suggestions as to how to find out what my user name and password is on this system would be of great help.

So, what's the web server software, and what's the default "index" page at this address?

Incidentally, if you typed this address correctly, it's not a "local" address AFAICT, as it seems outside of the IANA specs for Class C private networks. If it is an internet routable address, the possibility exists that it's not really yours; if it is yours, is it perhaps the "router" on your Internet-facing side of your setup? Like, maybe, your router?

I downloaded java sun application server as part of the J2EE SDK "All-In-One" bundle. I run the admin console and it goes here.
http://localhost:4848/admingui/TopFrameset.
A log in page for the server console.
It asks for username and password & I have no idea what it is!

Befor when I ran localhost for PHP/Mysql Intranet I could do an ipconfig and type the number in IPconfig (the IP Address) and use that to connect to the localhost and connect intranet computers to the localhost too. But now if I type this number I am asked for username and password.

I have no idea what these are as I didn't ever set them up. & I have used up all the ones that come to mind.
I know these must be locked away in my system somewhere but have no idea how to get them. I have already changed user names and admin names in user accounts along with passwords but this did not work either.

I'm gonna suggest checking the documentation that came with your Java bundle....

I have tried using NET USER in the dos panel but have not found the password to log into localhost or the application server yet
IP Address is 192.168.0.3
Default gateway is 192.168.0.2
DHCP Server is 192.168.0.2
DNS server is 192.168.0.2
Java forum says I should use adminadmin(doesn't work)
This is beyond a java prob as my homepage on the Intranet used to work with the number but now asks for user name and password.
http://localhost/index.html still works but with the ip number says cannot find server now!
