Cron script for newsletter subscribing

I'm trying to develop something similar where a subscriber can sign-up for an available 15 newsletters.

Are there any cron examples out there for this?

I'm thinking about just keeping the db schema simple with one table, having 15 columns for the newsletter and the value is a simple flag (0 or 1) if the user wants the letter or not. The PK for the table is the user's e-mail address.

I was thinking of having the newsletters stored on a sub-directory of the web application.

I was wondering if the DB design should be:
1. Single table with 15 columns of bit value for checked/selected letter
2. Main table then 15 child tables storing only e-mail value in each of the child tables
3. Main table - Join Table - Document table

for your table design i would just have a single table. it would make things easier for you to manage in the end. be sure you have fields though, for email/name/whatever they are logging in with, password (encrypted!) if required, blah blah blah. if you need help actually putting the database together let me know. friendsaver.pyrofreak.com is something i am working on with only 4 tables for the whole site.

Thanks! I liked the single table since it made things simple, and the actual newsletters can be stored somewhere in a sub-directory.

Yeah, I've got 24 other fields like e-mail (PK for table), fname, lname, address....etc.

I'm not familiar with cron scripts, so I don't really know where to start. I'll keep hunting though. Since there are 15 newsletters, I'm thinking the server will do 15 mailings.
1. All users who want first document go out in first e-mail
2. All users who only want 2nd docuemnt go out in second e-mail
...etc.

To group mailing by preferences, that would be 15 ^ 15 mailings which would be huge.
