Comparing form variables against text file

Hi,

I'm working on an application where I need to compare a received form variable against a list of words in a text file.

My initial thought was just to process each line of the file and compare it to the form variable but this seems a bit clunky. I would rather search the text file for the word but, maybe I've been looking at code for too long, I can't for the life of me think where to start.

Any ideas, anyone?

How big is the text file? If it isn't very large, perhaps using file() and reading it into an array and then use foreach to loop through the array or possibly something like in_array() to see if the form variable exists.

Just an idea off the top of my head.. 🙂
