I've been browsing the forum a lot lately, and I stumbled across this: Part of an attempt to improve subject lines.
Now, since in there it seems that it was suggested to look for "hacks" or modifications to do for the forum, I thought it might be interesting to see what's out there, and see exactly how we can improve this forum. Here are just a few:
Double-Posting prevention
[indent]When a User posts into a thread where he already has the lastpost, no new post will be added. The lastpost of him will be edited and the new text is put after his first message, attachments will be added to the old post as well.[/indent]
Custom User Pages
[indent]This Extension for Vbulletin 3.5 offers forum members the ability to create a custom profile page (or pages) on your site.[/indent]
bbcode Tables
[indent]Create tables using a pop-up in the non-WYSIWYG editor. Displays data in a table[/indent]
That would be great, especially for the Database forum... hint hint
Forbidden characters in Username
[indent]I include this because I think it could be easy enough to adapt to the subject line so that we get more descriptive subjects rather than "Help me please?"[/indent]
So just a few ideas.... the table one is fairly straight-forward, and I think might do well here (since a lot of coding seems to be with databases and data manipulation).
