Hi,
a "short" question 😉
I'd like to open a e.g. Word-Document via the browser and to save it to the web resource just by clicking on the save button in MS-Word.
In principle the http doesn't offer a solution for this (and it is good, like it is).
But I have to possible answers to this problem in mind.
One of them is WebDAV, but I don't know up to now, if it is possibel to restirct the whole thing on the browser without adding a new "harddrive" to the system (which looks for me, that it is the the normal way to add a WebDAV ressource to a windows system).
The other way might be ActiveX Components. If you have a look at the MS SharePoint Portal Server, there is a solution, that looks a little bit more flexible, than the WebDAV way. It looks like you can handle the whole things via the IE and include even Meta information via saving a document. But I am not familiar with the sharepoint system and the way MS goes for this solution. It looks like ActiveX for me (but I am not shure).
If any of you knows about Articles, HowTo'S or Tutorials, that may give me a clue how to find a solution for this question, I would be really happy.
thank you for your time,
Andreas
