Browser/Device detection

Does anyone know of any class or script that would allow for browser/device detection based on what you are using

i.e so that a website can recognise if you are using IE, PDA, Pocket PC, etc

Basically I am looking to create universal pages, but display varying content based on what the user is browsing with

You'll probably want to check the contents of $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT']. You can get a more detailed breakdown of browser features from the get_browser function, which returns an object. Just be aware that the user agent is sometimes not sent in the request (such as with some anonymizers), so you'll need to default to something if it's not sent.

Although, not sure you can tell if they're on a PocketPC or PDA or Cell Phone, but more along the lines of IE, Mozilla, Opera, Netscape, Safari....
