Page Variable Not Working

I would say I am new to PHP, but I know a little. I built a who site using it.

I am working on tulsalock.com and I am having trouble.
Php is only used to designate pages. ?page=2
But for some reason those links are not working.

I imported a page I knew worked on a different server, and it does not work on this one.
Those pages are index2.php and educaton.php.
Education is the one that should work. The links on the left say ?page=1 but nothing

happens.
I think I attached an example for the code for the education page.

What do I need to do to make it work?

It might help to post the code rather than a picture of a portion of a page!!

From what little I can see in that picture, you may want to check that the server that you have put the script on allows the use of short tags.

Here is all the code, I had to shorten it but I think it will help. I don't know what you mean by short tags. That is how I learned so. Point me to a site that explains them or can you explain to me?

Take a look here for info on short tags, basically if there off your stuck.

As far as I can tell your problem is a cury bracket that is opened on line 89

if(@$page ==1) {
?>

isn't closed as you have no more php code after that line.

The open cury bracket does close later on the page but, that was an error on my part when trying to copy it to this forum. I had to shorten it and left it out. My bad.

This is baffling me.
Even my host company wants to know.

Your links aren't actually pointing anywhere!
What happens when you click on a link is that it passes a variable back to itself, the page displays fully.

I'm not quite sure I understand what you are trying to do but if I've got it right I think this may help

I copied that code into a php document and posted it as trial.php

It still does not work. If you click a link that refers to a page ?page=children
nothing happens. Even though there are defined if statements that read if(@$page== children) {

Looking for suggestions.

I'm not sure I understand your code. It does not seem to have but one start php and end php. Is there a reason for that?

I don't necessarily need to code it differently, but rather I need someone who can think of a reason the php is not being recognized by the server. I have several pages that I know work on a different server that do not work on this specific server. There is no option to switch either. Consult the above posts for more information.

You haven't declared $page anywhere and are assuming that register_globals is on, which it is not. In order to access this variable you will need to use the $_GET array. You shoud also check it is set before trying to use it. eg;

this...

if(@$page ==1) {

should be...

if (isset($_GET['page']) && $_GET['page'] == 1) {

The reason it's not working is that the page links have been tampered with, check the source of your page and you get this for the links

Whereas the code I posted and still works fas this

As you'll notice between the quotes of the hrefs is the page link, these have been removed in the page you put up! So that each time you click a link it just reloads the same page.
