Massive POST function

Hi

Im extracting all the data from one table and im trying to insert in on anotherone, ofcourse the fields are different and both tables have differents ages, i wanna get the new one into the old, but without messing the old, (i already had backup)

Im selecting all the rows from mysql, now, which should be the best way , and which one would work ?

If show all the rows as fields on a form, will all of them insert same time into the database ? I dont know , because the would be like 400 times the same Field on the POST function and i dont know if its a good idea 😛

Ive never tried anything like this, but the first thing that springs into my novice brain is some sort of a php while query... errr say "SELECT * from oldtable" and then while rows exist insert into newtable values($oldage, $oldid etc etc. Maybe something like that would work?
