Hello experts,
I'm interested in tracking the activity of both users who are logged in,
and users who are just browsing the site. More specifically, I want to be
able to track the referrer URL, the first page accessed on our site, whether
they have visited a specific page, and the external link they click on when
they're taken out of our site. I am using sessions for those users that
have actually registered, but I don't know how to do the following:
(1) How to store cookie and session data in sql
(2) How to create cookies for users that aren't registered
Is there a good tutorial somewhere that someone can refer me to?
Mind you, I'm a newbie, and although I've visited php.net, it feels
over my head. So, if there's a good beginner tutorial, or, if someone
has accomplished something similar, perhaps you could post the code here?
