Site search engine cant refresh

I have a search engine on my website and when you search for something, click a link and then hit the back button on the browser, you need to refresh the page and repost the variables to get the page to show up. How can I make it that it remembers the search string when you hit back? Is it easy to do something like google does by putting the variables in the URL or can I just change the headers on the page?

if you want the variables in the query string use the get method on your search form, if you want them hidden use post either way you should be able to click the back button and and resend the info. if that doesnt work you might try using session varibles to remember the search string and have the search box fill w/ the search info when the page is called.
