adding to cart without going to cart

Hi all,

Currently - when you add a product to your quote it takes you to the cart and shows you everything you hasve ordered. I want to just add it to the order without leaving the page I am on. Can I do this?? Easily??

The code when I click to add something is:

display_button('show_cart.php?new='.($row['productid']), 'add-to-cart', 'Add '
.$row['title'].' To My Quotation');

You can use javascript to do that. save cookies/ session data through the javascript

You haven't given us a lot to go on here. The short answer is that Yesm you can write code to add a product to a visitor's cart without requiring the visitor to leave the current product page. Exactly how you can do this depends completely on how your cart works.

Yes you can, the idea is to use IFRAME. Create an iframe tag anywhere after body, set the width=1, height=1 and style="display: none". When ever you need to add product to cart you can just execute the addtocart php script via IFRAME. For more advanced ways to do it, search AJAX on google. But since in your case you don't really need a return value, IFRAME is good enough.

Maybe I should have said that I was programming in PHP4 and MYSQL4. I'm not sure yet if this'll make a difference yet... Just starting to look....

Great!! Thanks for your help!! That works perfectly!!!! Well, almost. I have a couple of fields that show the number of products ordered and the total value of the order. Can I make the page I'm on refresh after each time I click the button as well?
