Looking for a news Script?

Hello!
Apologies if this is in the wrong section or this kind of thing isnt supported here, but I am looking for a news script that has the following:

Simplicity - So i can integrate it with my current site design.
Simplicity (Admin) so i can integrate it with my site's admin area.
PHP (obviously) and MySQL (I dont really want it flat filed)
Archives! If a news item isnt on the front page, then it becomes archived.

I do NOT need or want:

Flat filed scripts. I prefer everything to be in a database
RSS isnt needed, but i could have it if its there.
Comments, Categories, Multi-Users
The "Click here for more on this article" thing - i would like it all displayed.

All i need is something that I can put into my site design and that has archives. I wont use anything else.
I have been looking more or less (literally) all day on a couple of sites. They have turned up a few, which I have tested, but one of them didnt show the date if i put it above the article and the others havent had archives and the other one i remember was a scrolling marquee - ugh!

I can't believe there isnt one like this around on Hot Scripts or on resourceindex. Has anyone got any idea's?

Sounds like you need something like PHPNUke or PHPBB Plus Portal

I thought about phpNuke, but thats a portal system and a CMS in itself. I only neeed a news system.

Couldn't you just use it has the backend for what you need? I personally don't like PHPNuke ethier. I use ezportal, thier is another that is pretty nice that doesn't give you that portal look and feel. I have to remember the name though.
