i'm new here and i thought that i had a subscription to this place. apparently i don't so i had to register. i've been reading here every now and then when i have to get some help or a tutorial for myself as i build the CMS system that i'm coding.
well i more or less finished the install file minus sessions and i had to look up someting that is very important to my website and i'm not sure what i need to do in order to make it work. yes, i did search so don't worry about that. i'm not new to forums in general. don't let my one post fool yah 😉 😃
i need to stream videos off of my webserver but i can't install my own streaming server yet so i was going to have a player streamed in as i understand it. i'd be doing it in Quicktime because i feel that is the best codec that i can use when it comes to movies.
either way this is some code that i 'borrowed' from putfile.com to understand the tags that are needed to embed a streaming video into your webpage:
<EMBED name=mediaplayer1
pluginspage=http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/MediaPlayer/
src=http://x302.putfile.com/videos/c8-16617350574.wmv
width=480
height=430
type=application/x-mplayer2
controller="true"
loop="0"
transparentstart="1"
autostart="true"
EnableContextMenu="false"
showstatusbar="1"></EMBED>
from what i've read online (they aren't too clear with thier tutorials) is that you can have the source content on your site and the plugins shown on your site. that, is almost ideal for me. the only thing that i actually wanted to do further more to the streaming is actually have it play thru a flash player so that i can keep the video more secure on my site so people can't take the actual videos && have it in a nicer looking player. isn't that what we all want tho? lol. if you know how to do that as well thank you 🙂
this would be an easy convert for PHP if i knew the HTML but that is a problem when i can't figure out how to do these simples things
thank you for your help 🙂
