looking to the right, i saw a banner ad for "AMD in the Enterprise".
It made me think of a business i was recently involved with-- the first time i was introduced to "Enterprise Management Software". The software that this company used was called e-Synergy, a vast Enterprise management application with countless components, everything-but-the-kitchen-sink kind of all inclusive management utility. This is not meant to slander Exact, the software company who makes e-Synergy, because I think it is incredible software-- so incredible and vast, however, that my inexperience with corporate style business had me feeling like a kid who just got his Windows 3.1 box up and running after toying with an Apple IIc or something-- i mean, i felt lost! The more comfortable i became w/ the workings of it, the more i realized how incredible and well-put-together it was, but by the time i left that company, even after 3 months, i was still far from any mastery, or even a fully functional understanding of e-Synergy.
The point of this post is that, although I was intimidated by this enterprise software, i was nonetheless aware of the kinetic energy it seemed to possess-- the thought that "If a business had potenial, and organized its workflow management by using this software the right way, there'd be no stopping it!"
I just so happen to be having some problems w/ a project (a paid-subscription web site that he and i are running) i'm doing w/ one other person. It's not possible for the two of us to communicate with each other in person very often-- or even speak on the phone. I wonder if I were to set up some kind of enterprise management software that he and i could log into daily and report our progress-- how it might help us to get along and prosper.
Does anyone out there know of anything like what i've described? anything come to mind, even if that's not it's intended purpose? something to manage a project in which two (or more) people are involved in doing different duties, but they need to know what the other is doing in order to effectively move forward w/ their own work. Ideally, i'm looking for something that i could install and administer from my own server-- something not real complex like e-Synergy, but something more than just a "calendar". know what i mean?
thanks for reading! i hope someone has an idea-- he and i are really struggling w/ this communication thing, and e-mail, for whatever reason, just doesn't seem to be cutting it. thanks!
