php5 and apache2

I'm using windows xp, mysql5, php5 and apache2.

I managed to install everything and I've made some simple test pages calling a mysql database and showing the results in the screen.

The only problem is that this page (index.php) must be in the c:\program files\apache group\apache2\htdocs directory.

If I move this file to another directory, it doesn't work anymore.

How can I set up to make pages to work in different directories????

You need to edit your httpd.conf (C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2\conf[/i]) and where it says "Document Root" change it to whatever directory you want to use. Just make sure you edit everywhere that deals with the document root in that file.

If you want to have some files here, and other files there, you need to consolidate all your files to one "root" directory and organize it from there down. Understand?

Just edited the httdp.conf to reflect your hints.

I'll reboot now and see if it works.

Sorry for giving you that trouble. But, for me this is very similar to make a brain cirurgy reading the instructions in chinese.
