[HELP] "123\n456",why it desn't work?

$droot=$HTTP_SERVER_VARS['DOCUMENT_ROOT'];
$fp = fopen("$droot/text.txt",'ab');
$s= "123\n456";

fwrite($fp,$s,strlen($s));
fclose($fp);

but in the text.txt.it appears like this:
123456

what's wrong?

Do you see a block in the text file? If you do, that's the line-feed. You're using Unix line-feeds with Windows. Try \r\n instead....

yp, it works
as u know, im using windows (but my teacher didn't tell me it doesnt work in win)
btw, do u know any good training materials about "Regular expressions"( is it right? sorry for my poor englsh xD), i mean it must be easy to understand .

Google for Regular Expressions and PHP. That's how I got introduced to them... pretty much any PHP "bible" will give an overview of them too.
