file upload and XO hosting

Hello,

I am trying to create a script that takes a file from the visitor and uploads it into a folder on the server.

The hosting company is XO and a windows server.

The file name registers and everything seems to work, but the file never ends up in the desination folder. I have tried to change the permissions on the folder but it doesnt work.

any suggestions as to how to get this to work or work around this?

Does your code work on a different platform, such as Linux?

Also, from the PHP manual, Chapter 5, "As of PHP 4.2.0, you could use $_FILES['userfile']['error'] and plan your logic according to the error codes."

Are you error-handling in your function and using other supporting built-in PHP functions, such as is_uploaded_file()? Do you know where your server's temporary upload directory is? If not, are you using your own with upload_tmp_dir (and do you have the permissions to do so)?

good question.

Yes, it does work on linux. I have been using it for a while.

I will look into the error checking and temp location.
The function itself checks if the file_exisits (in the temp dir) and continues, so that is why it is frustrating.

(actually, now that I writting this out, hmm, it seems it makes it into the temp, but then not copying into the correct folder)

I will get back with more info.
