My client has a small site share-hosted on GoDaddy.com. She also has a second site with a different domain name hosted under a different service. I have integrated its pages into her GoDaddy site; now she wants to get rid of the old site, but keep that domain name and re-direct it to a page on her new GoDaddy site.
I tried just switching the nameserver pointers on her old domain, but it turns out that doesn't work because the new (GoDaddy) site is shared hosting, and she doesn't have a dedicated IP address.
GoDaddy advises me I can either (a) purchase a dedicated IP address for a few bucks a month, or (b) install a "hostname file".
Anyone know how to write and in stall such a file?
