I am having a problem figuring out what fields to make and how to set them up due to me wanting to have a custom search. Here is the summary of my site.
Database consists of skateboard companies that tell thier current skate roster and the date.
Example:
Company: Baker Skateboards
Roster: Andrew Reynolds, Kevin Long, Jim Greco
Date: 01-27-06
I would have the following as my database structure:
database: skatersdb
table: companies
fields: company, roster, date
Customized search examples:
+List all of Chad Muska's sponsors in March 1999
+List all of Baker Skateboards roster in April 2002
Example rows:
Company | Roster | Date
Baker Skateboards |Andrew Reynolds, Kevin Long, Jim Greco | 1-2006
Ghettochild Wheels |Chad Muska, Brandon Turner | 11-2005
Ghettochild Wheels |Chad Muska, Brandon Turner | 12-2005
Shortys Skateboards |Chad Muska, Rodrigo Lima | 1-2006
Shortys Skateboards |Chad Muska, Steve Olson, Jesse Silvey | 12-2005
Search Engine:
Company [Shortys Skateboards ]
or
Skater [ ]
Date m[January ] y[2006 ]
[go]
Would display:
Company: Shortys Skateboards
Roster: Chad Muska, Rodrigo Lima
Date: January 2006
Now here are the problems.
+example: Shortys Skateboards drops a rider the next month. Will I have to make a new row for them? A whole new entry?
+What if the team doesnt change and the following month the company has the same riders, do I have to have another row for them?
+I dont even knwo if its possible to query my db how its setup to list a riders sponsors during his whole lifetime
