$_POST variables? problem

Hi, this is my 1st post here.. I need some help, Im Using DWMX04 and ive got a form which inserts a record into a Mysql Database.. the Insert is fine and the database gets updated, my problem is id like to use the data inserted on the next Page.. But for some reason i cant access the $_POST Variables on the next page?

If i use a normal form (Not an Insert Record one) i can access the Variables?

how do i get round this? and why are they not available?

Basically i just need to get hold of the Primary key so the next page can show the record..

Well, there is another solution to the problem, IF I understand you correctly.

(you have one page that is a form and a second page that processes the form and inserts that data into your db. Lastly you have a third page where you want to READ the posted data?)

When you are processing the posted data on page two, you can save the values in PHP $_SESSION global array, OR, on the third page, you can query your database (with a mysql SELECT query) And retrieve the data after it had been inserted on that or on ANY page you wish...

Hi, Thanx for the Reply... there is only two pages, Not three, Im using dreamweavers Built in Server Behaviour to insert the record and its this that is causing the problem.. If i make a form exactly the same but use the target page for the forms Action i Can get to all the Forms Variables, However if i Use the Insert Record Behaviour i cant send it directly to my Target Page it seams the Behaviour controls this and somehow the Forms Variables Get Lost?

Your last Comments were interesting and i too Had thought of this, but as a newbie im not sure how i would access the database on the target page and pull the last record entered?

Think I worked a Way Round It, amazing what you can come up with when your freezing and waiting for a bus to turn up lol....

I made a Recordset and sorted it on ID (primary key) Decending so that i can just pull out the Last record on the 2nd page from the Database...

Now i can Store that in a Session Variable for the rest of the pages..
