Notice: A session had already been started - ignoring session_start() in ...

Is there anything I need to do to correct this error message?

Never seen that before. Do you call session_start() more than once? You should call it once only at the top of your script (well, before any output anyway).

session_start() is been called only once at the top before any other output.

However, I do have include file that also has session_start() - I am not sure whether this would be a problem.

Yes it would.

session_start() is been called only once

If its also in an include, it is called twice.

Are you sure that calling it twice the cause of the problem?

Im pretty sure (cant test at the moment), look at the notice. Which, by the way, is only a notice, not an error. You should turn notices off on a live application. You really only use them for developement.

sorry for this , not so full , answer 😛

but , i also know that theres a function that can be enabled on ur php.ini so PHP automatically starts a session on everypage without the need of calling session_start()

hope this helps, ill keep looking for that setting so u can look of it, now that u got the idea that something like that exist u could look for it too 😃 ! ! !

the variable is session.auto_start, however, it is probably safer to use session_start() in your scripts, you cant always depend on having this variable being turned on ...
