db clone -- need advise

I've got an online application that utilizes several tables from the db and has two interfaces
1. Front-end for users
2. Front-end for admins to populate db

I'd like to have another site that will be used by admins to input data and then to just move that updated db to the live site. Both sites are on the same dedicated server adn both have MyPhpAdmin but do not see each other through MyPhpAdmin interface.

Some of the entries will be new, some could be updated older records.

What's the best way of doing it?

If I export tables and import that from the live site what options shall I select?

Your best bet here is Mysql Replication . In particular, if all the data is being added by the admins then make theirs a master and make the other it's slave. They can then push all the updates to it at will or on a schedule.
