Tool Recomendation

Hi,
I am looking for a tool that can locally parse a php file and find errors. Errors such as unclosed brackets '{' and mismatched parentheses, etc.

PLEASE, I Do Not want a web server running on my laptop

I only want a tool that can do some error checking before I upload the php script to the server.

I am not trying to be picky, but I am using a 'work' laptop. For security reasons I CAN NOT run server type software..... but somebody has to have a simple executeable that can parse a file and find errors???????????

just install php, and use the CLI interface.

I ONLY want a program that will check for coding errors, no servers, no heavy duty configs, inis, no confusing programs running in the background

I want a simple program I can install on Windows XP, that will check a php script errors - without being a web server, without connecting to anything, without mysterious processes running.....

Somebody has to have something like this?

If you think the installer wont cut it, download the zip package, then use the CLI interface. In PHP4 you would run php-cli.exe while in PHP5 you would run php.exe

Anyway, unless you intend to use PHP with IIS, PWS or Xitami you should use the zip package.
