help needed please

Hi there
I've just downloaded the badblue server (personal edition) to run on my windows xp pro pc. I also downloaded and installed php 5 and they're both communicating ok.

i'm using a peice of software call EZ generator to create my web pages, It automatically creates forms in php which is great it's just getting them to work, when I transfer the pages to the badblue folder and create a vurtual directory, the webpage and forms display fine, they're just basic forms for now it's when I press the submit button, I get this error message:-

You will have to set up your mail in your php.ini for that to work, the default that comes with it won't. You will have to edit the php.ini look for this and set it there;

SMTP = localhost//make this your ISP's mail server like mail.somehost.com
smtp_port = 25

;sendmail_from = [e-mail]//make this your email and remove the semicolon

thanks for the reply, will the file be located in the PHP folder itself or within the webpages/ files generated by the website creator software?

just include

ini_set("sendmail_from","[e-mail]");
?>

in your script.This will automaticly set the php.ihi in your web server.

Just use windows search for it, different applications have different ways of handling the php.ini with apache the file is in the apache/bin folder, so just use the search feature of Windows on your hard drive and make those changes in all instances you find it in to be absolutely sure that it works. Remember to restart the server or the changes will not take effect, the same as when you install applications in Windows you need to do the same with your web server.

To check and be sure that your PHP has been updated use phpinfo, if you don't have a quick way of seeing phpinfo then copy this program to your web folder where you put all your other web stuff and run it.

just name it phpinfo.php or anything and then in your browser type http://localhost/phpinfo.php and you should see the changes in the PHP Core which will be the second table in the long list of tables that phpinfo shows.

Thanks very much for your reply.
I can't edit php within the software,I can only actually edit the actual form itself as the php files are automaticaly generated, it just asks you to enter your email address and a few other different things and apparently does the rest. I can't seem to locate the .INI file within my webpages folder, there's a load of other php files but no .INI file.

I've sorted my problem out now, I changed the smtp setting from 'localhost' to my smtp address in the php.ini which I finally located in the windows folder on the C: drive.
