Generated Over 10,000 Static Pages - Running Slowly

Hi there. I generated about 10,000 static pages and at first they were running really smoothly but after tweaking just a few things, such as font size, etc..., now it is running very, very slowly. I want static pages for my own reasons, but I was wondering if you know why they are running slowly. Here is one of the pages....

if you click on one of the tutorial links, it goes to a static page - I was going to post the code here but it kept giving me errors because the code was too long. It is basically just html and only one include. I think it is possible that it is is because there are over 10,000 pages in one folder...if so, does anyone know of a good tutorial for generating static pages into more than one folder?

It could be because your html is horribly bloated, looks like dreamweaver output. And of course it doesn't validate.

Hi there. Yes, it probably was generated with Dreamweaver knowing me. If I go back and do basic html, will this reduce time? I don't program in PHP very often. What do you mean by 'it doesn't validate'? Sorry if this is a stupid question. Thank you!

If your html pages didn't contain the bloat that these do then load times would be faster, simply because it all adds to the size of the page.

Validation follow the links in my sig, there are links for css and html validation, at the moment your pages lack a doctype and on the page I checked http://www.tutorialselect.com/distancelearning/irregulararrowsillustratortutorialtutorials_cque.php it came back with this message

fixing this could/should speed up load times.

Are they all in one directory? That could slow it down. Make a directory tree.

Hi there. Thank you so much for writing back. Yes, all of these files are in the same directory. I never created a directory tree before. What is that? In the meantime I will look it up - that is how I learn 99% of PHP because it has been so long since I had to program anything

Well, I was thinking any kind of subdirectory structure than reduces the number of files in any single directory to a reasonable number.
