[RESOLVED] Slashes / Quotation Marks Problem

I have a simple script where the user can enter text into a field, this is then passed to a new page.

On the new page they are given the option to save what they have entered or to go back and change it.

If they choose to go back and edit it and the text they have entered has quotation marks in then it will not echo anything after the speech marks into the text field even if i use stripslashes on the variable before i echo it.

Any suggestions?

You want to use stripslashes() when it already has slashes escaping the quotes. If you have quotes that were in, but are now missing, you may want to try addslashes() to escape them.

I've tried adding slashes too, the same problem occurs that everything past the quotation marks appears to be deleted the only difference is that there are slashes in the box :S

Found what i needed: htmlspecialchars()
