PHP Sessions and Logins

Hello -I hope someone can give a hand...

Im using this sample script

Im trying to protect a page on a site and need sometning simple without using mysql..just php.

Ive tried this script verbatim but no luck..I get a blank page in my face... 🙁
Im no expert but everything seems to look fine in the code. Could there be some error in this code maybe?

Do I need to edit sometning in the host directory to allow sesssions mabye??

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Its old code. Change this...

if(!$submit)

to...

if (!isset($_POST['submit'])) {

thanks, I think im getting close...blank page gone.I now get the Password/Username Is Invalid statement now...i tried the username/pswd and still get invalid...

I changed the following from old code..

<?php
if(!$submit)
{
?>

to..

<?php
if(!isset($_POST['submit'])) { 
?>

sometning else that maybe wrong??

change them to $POST['username'] and $POST['password'].
Also some of the session code is deprecated so read up on sessions and update that code too.

looks like im having problems here with this code... Anyone know any resources or links to a simple php session enabled login i can use?

Try setting $PHP_SELF to $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']

To learn why you need to use $SERVER and $POST read this

This script is really simple but you can probably find other login scripts at hotscripts.com
