Making a list

if i want to make a list that will change often how would i code it so they ahve numbers like ranks

That question is simply far to vague and open ended to even begin to answer. A list of what? In a database? In an array? How large of a list? Updated how often?

ok i have a rank of people on my attack list and the player order will change with who gets most power but i want the 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 to stay the same how is this done?
